Finding Your Passion

For years, I struggled with what it was that I supposed to do in life. What was my PURPOSE? What was I put on the earth to do? The stress drove me crazy. I often talked about my mom wanting me to be a nurse or a becoming the family doctor for my dad.  All of the dreams they wanted for themselves, but none of those felt right. None of them gave me butterflies in the pit of my stomach.

While waiting on my answer for my life’s purpose, I played and organized activities for my friends. Loved doing that. I had double Dutch competitions (which, I won by the way.. LOL), three legged races and told stories at sleepovers. Loved it. I had the best stories every time.

While I continued along waiting for the big sign, I started comfortably talking and listening to the young ladies in the neighbourhood and sisters of my friends who came to me for guidance and mentorship. That excitement was awesome. Wait.. my stomach felt weird..

While I continued to wait, my work with young people landed me jobs that allowed me to create empowerment and self- love programs. My passion for the change and well -being of young women and girls began to give me sleepless nights and had me waking up with a nagging desire to reach more than I did the day before. This felt so right.  Wait my stomach is starting to flutter.

You see where this is going, don’t you? All those symptoms and signs... it was the stomach flu.. just kidding. The desire, the butterflies, the sleeplessness , the amazing  feeling of this being a perfect fit  for me. It was my passion led me to my purpose.

The moral here is.. Let your PASSION lead you to your purpose, so that your purpose can be done with PASSION.
