Divine “Inner”vention

Have you ever experienced a set of circumstances lining up so perfectly that you just knew that it was nothing other than divine innervention? No, not divine intervention- divine innervention. I’m talking about those moments where you are guided by your inner (and highest) self, only to find yourself exactly, and I mean exactly, where you ought to be?

A few days ago, the most remarkable thing happened. I was out running errands in my neighbourhood and was just checking off that last task on my to-do list. Out of nowhere, the thought to do one last thing came into my mind. This one last thing was not on my list, so initially I pushed it out of my thoughts- yet, my persistent inner voice was speaking to me. “You need to run into Indigo and grab one of the Real Talk Candles, and then you can head home and call it a day,” she said to me. Wildly specific, right? Apprehensively, I surrendered to my inner self, and headed over to Indigo.

Once in Indigo, I headed over to their Home Section and picked up exactly what my inner voice called me to do, a fresh smelling candle with a fun saying. Boom- I was ready to go home! But then, it happened again! “Why don’t you just take a quick step into the stationary section,” she coaxed. Yeah, right, as if I need anymore pens (my pen collection is real, my friends). Again, I surrendered to my inner self, as she guided me so gracefully into the pen section.

And that is when it happened. “Ms. Stewart?!” I turned and saw the brightly lit eyes of one of my former elementary students. We moved toward each other (six feet away of course) and went through the normal flow of any conversation (“hey, how are you, how is everything, what have you been up to...”). Then, she said something that stood out to me. “Ms. Stewart, I had you on my mind two days ago and wanted to call you and tell you something I’ve always wanted to say to you about how you changed my life with three words...I stopped myself, and thought that I’ll wait until I run into you someday...and here you are! I had zero intention of coming here today, but something told me to, so I did. What are the odds?!”. I chuckled to myself , because I knew it wasn't a matter of the odds- it was that we both listened to our inner voices and surrendered to our inner guidance.

This moment of divine innervention was taking place because I had been able to silence the noise around me and listen to the voice within. As I stood there in amazement about what was transpiring, she then went on to tell me what those three powerful words were, how they changed her life for the better, and how it may just be the three words that every woman needs to hear in order to step into their purpose. I’ll leave that story for the next post...

For now, recognize these kinds of situations, experiences, and divine innerventions that are the direct result of trusting yourself. Believing yourself. Listening to yourself. Stepping into the instinctive power of YOU. I am so glad that I quieted all the noise around me that day to hear my inner voice leads me to this unforgettable moment of divine innervention. Are you ready to to listen to the voice within YOU?
